The unity of all the Green powers does not concern us. Animal Party Cyprus does not belong to the political ecology. We represent a different, independent political current; that of Political Animal Welfare!

We are an international political concept for Humans, Animals and Nature for ONE health and ONE prosperity, which goes beyond the “Greens,” insofar as they:

(a) When not actually reinforcing the animal industry, are indifferent to it, ignoring or overlooking that it is one of the two pillars of Climate Crisis while at the same time it is responsible for the 6th Mass Extinction of Species and the unsustainability of our way of life .

(b) In the name of their “multidisciplinary” policy, they systematically degrade the fate of humans, animals and nature in their programme’s narrative.

In fact, by seeking “wider electoral audiences”, they have become internationally a modern variant of social democracy, and/or classical liberalism. After all, with representatives of these trends (but also of the conservatives!) They co-rule – or seek to co-rule – at national or local level!

(c) In the name of their involvement in local or national governments, the Greens are willing to further lower their (already far below current requirements) animal and environmental status to the point where they make decisions against animals and nature!

Characteristic is the case of environmental policy, as not only did they not vote against proposals for the extraction of fossil fuels from the Cypriot seas, on the contrary they encourage this with the excuse that it is a ‘national issue’

2. For us, critical political issues are the liberation of animals from suffering, the plant-base-diet transition and ecological transformation (which presupposes the above two goals). These matters, however, have yet to be of any concern for the Greens or other parties.

It is obvious that the political distance that separates us, on issues that are important to us, nullifies and/or makes it untimely to consider any thought of political and electoral coexistence.

Experience and history, however, teach us that any collaborations or “bonds,” even when noble motives arise, dissolve the day after the elections or turn into a wild tug-of-war for the absorption of the smaller partners by the larger ones

As far as we are concerned, we have chosen to claim the mandate of the citizens in a clean and comprehensive way. We want support for implementing all of our policy proposals. We mean to ask for their support from the voters in a clear way, as an independent political force. We believe that this is the Royal Way in order to forge long-term and sustainable political ties with the citizens, capable of advancing our policies, and not our politicians.

Having said that, we certainly want to have good political relations with both the Greens and all the forces of Political Ecology, as well as with all the democratic parties in order to implement actions related to three of our main priorities: Climate Crisis, Biodiversity and Sustainability.

We consider it important that our political relations with the other political forces correspond to the political reality and to the peculiarity of each one. We want citizens to have the opportunity to choose clear political proposals, not politicians with blurry programmatic and ideological mindsets who expect to function with unconditional authority.
